After a short trek around our local dog park on Saturday afternoon, Steve and I returned to our car to find the passenger side window smashed and my purse stolen. It's contents included my iphone, camera, wallet, 4 sets of keys, heart-shaped sunglasses, Third Willow key chain....among other, more minor items.
It's devastating and completely violating. I'm hopeful that the criminals were only after money and not my identity. I didn't have any cash, but they did manage to charge on a couple of credit cards before we could hold the accounts.
Perhaps the sad people who commit these crimes have never had anything of value stolen from them before. They must not know how it feels to be the victim. I'm still holding out hope that they took what they wanted (credit cards) and my purse and the rest of its contents are in a ditch somewhere for a good Samaritan to find and send back to me. Not likely, but hey...never know.
Until then, working with insurance and our banks to clear up this whole mess. Regular posts will resume tomorrow.

My window in my car was broken at our house in Minneapolis. Luckily they didn't take anything but CDs and a little notebook, but it really annoyed me. Then I recently lost my wallet on the bus and somebody decided to keep it. I am currently in the middle of replacing all of my IDs, and mourning the loss of all those cute pictures I had of my nephews.
I hope you get your stuff back and they don't muck up your name for you. :(
Oh I'm so sorry that happened. I've had my purse stolen before too and it was horrible. Luckily it sounds like you got a hold your banks quickly and they won't be able to do any major damage!

I'm so sorry! I can't believe there are people like this. It kills me. My best friend had her purse stolen out of her car TWICE within two weeks. Doors locked, purse securly under seat or under a jacket... and EVERYTHING was gone... twice. WHY? I just wish I understood. I hope someone sends your things back, and if not, I hope the insurance company can help make sure everything will be okay.
Oh, that's so sad, and annoying in the same time!.. I really hope you'll get everything back... not talking about ids and iphone and camera, but the bag is a killer! I love it!!!..

Oh, Jill, what a bummer! I'm so sorry-- I hope that you can clear this all up as quickly and painlessly as possible.
This happened to my mom at a rest stop in Michigan last year. They tried to use the cards, but my mom got everything refunded through fraud protection. They also tried to write some checks. The biggest pain for her was the ongoing monitoring of her credit score/credit report. She's just never sure when someone might try to open a credit card in her name. She also had to change the house locks since the thieves had her drivers license with her home address and a set of house keys. Such a pain, and, yes, such a violation. I'm so sorry!

Oh girl, I'm so sorry. My purse was stolen one time, right out from between my feet, and I was incredibly rattled. I hope that your banks & insurance companies are understanding and competent. And even though the odds are slim, I'll hope with you that some sweet Samaritan is out there with your beautiful bag in hand.
