Weekend Fun

My weekend was so fun.  (bet cha couldn't guess that from the post title)

Friday:  Steve's mom was visiting from West Virginia.  We had dinner at Outback and met her incredibly sweet manfriend for the first time.  Had the nicest waitress ever.  Concluding that folks with southern accents are nicer than ones with northern accents.  I can say that because I talk like a northerner...because I am one, doncha know.  Filled up on steak and garlic mashed potatoes.  Yummy.

Saturday:  Watched a little buddy of mine in his first basketball game.  Confirming (yet again) that my future kids WILL play sports.  It's so important for developing self-worth and learning teamwork and perseverance.

Went to a family gathering and over-stuffed myself on homemade cheese dip.  Steve learned how to play Cribbage.

My New Yorker friend Erika was in town, so some designated girlfriend time was in order.  Ate, played cards, giggled a lot.  Elaina's neighbors are pastry chefs and they stopped by to make us some tasty desserts.  We felt like east-side royalty.

Sunday:  Went thrifting at ARC's with blogger pal Anna of A Banana Medley.  I think she might be a thrifting good luck charm, because I found some crazy-great items including a plaid, vintage blazer (70's style) with matching vest for less than $10, and a looks-brand-new winter coat for Steve for $1.  We dined on hoagies and talked 'blog'.  She's super cool.

Got in some good cuddle time with hubby before he left for Chicago for a few days.  Now it's just me and this crazy Pug.
