Misfits

I love when two unrelated wardrobe pieces come together as if they were made for each other.  This boxy, cropped jacket seemed brilliant for $11 at F21, but I had yet to find a great way to wear it.  It isn't a style that typically works with my short torso.   And I often struggle with layering this dress - being that it's very thin and the fit on top isn't perfect.  Tried the 2 misfits together and viola!  A match made in closet heaven.

Good work, they totally do look great together. I think it's the contrast of the two that make them look so good together.

Those pieces look great together.

I love the pattern of this dress holy moly I love it. I've had those random pieces that don't look the best with some things but look like magic on others. It's a love hate relationship I tell you.

You look adorable, but I've got to ask: when does spring happen in Minnesota? It looks like there's still so much snow, and this Southerner is just baffled.

Okay, I went to weather.com after my last comment and looked at Minneapolis. Girl, it's COLD where you are! Even in the middle of the night in January, it's not that cold here. I'm admiring your 3/4 sleeves and skirt even more now. If it were that cold here, I'd be wearing a ski parka and not leaving my couch (which would probably be okay because the city would shut down - we have no idea how to deal with snow!).

This looks amazing, Jill! I'd have swooned for the dress and passed on the jacket, because of my shape. But I think you really made both work to their fullest potential with this outfit. You look classic, comfortable, and my favorite of all "C" adjectives, COLORFUL!

If you hadn't mentioned these were misfit items, I wouldn't have had any idea. I think they're perfect together.

I love it! The snow is a great background (despite my grumblings about the deluge) and that vintage dress looks so cute!

So sad to still see snow behind you :(
Hope it starts to melt soon
