You all know that I'm a bargain-shopaholic. It's what this blog is (mostly) about.
I'm also a wannabe entrepreneur and envy those who are. I believe in karma. So when I find myself at a family owned boutique, I feel the need to show them my support by layin' down some cash I wouldn't otherwise spend. These pieces were not expensive by most people's standards, but as one who thrifts almost everything, it was a slight stretch for me. I hope that if I'm able to own my own boutique someday that a handful of folks will do the same for my business. It also didn't hurt that all items at Cliche' were 20% off during the Crosswalk event. Can't pass up a sale.
There is a kind of joy and satisfaction that comes with this sort of purchase. I felt like a million bucks, but spent less than $100. Success on several levels.

I know exactly how you feel. I am a thrifter myself, but a couple of weekends ago, I stumbled upon this little locally owned boutique. The owner/designer was so darling, I bought a few pieces even though they were more "expensive" than what I was used to. They were 30% off after all . . . I love your outfit today!
LOVE Cliche. I just have to drive by because if I go in, I will buy. I totally agree with supporting locally owned boutiques though. Don't forget your promise to open a shop with me! NE needs an ice cream/vintage store. Just planting the seed ;)
