Maxi-Dressing

I'm slowing acclimating to the maxi trend.  Skirts are easy.  It's the dresses that trip me up (pun intended).  Maxi dresses make me feel...swollen.  I think I'm not used to having so much of my upper arms and shoulders exposed.  This dress (my only maxi dress) also has an empire waste which draws extra attention to my chest.  Overall, it's just not a good look for me.

What I do like is the super soft fabric and colorful print.  Pairing it with a light-weight jacket provided the coverage I needed without adding a lot of weight.

Other tips for modest maxi-dressing?  Do tell.

Such a beautiful dress! I have been so attached to my maxi dress this summer, it hardly even funny. I love the colors and print of the one you've got here. And it's adorable paired with that jacket. Looks to be a wonderful summer outfit.

I really like this! The print is wonderful, and the color is so great for you! You could maybe try a short sleeved cardi to still give you coverage but also keep you cool :) Mix and Match Fashion

I think it's a great look on you! I always pair my maxi dresses with a jacket or cardigan for coverage, and this jacket looks like perfection with this maxi to me!

I have yet to embrace the maxi trend, though I love the look. I think I'm just too short for it! I do think it can be all a matter of finding the right one, though. I love this bright print!

It's looks GREAT on you, but if you need another coverage option. Maybe you can do a cardigan, light denim jacket or a tee underneath.

Love the paisley print! :)
