Pants on the Ground

Shirt:  Gap
Necklace:  Francesca's
Jeans:  clothes-swap 2010

As in, these pants are too long (paired with the shoes you cannot see) and drag on the ground.  Remedy:  taller shoes.

Ya know the great thing about clothes-swaps?  Zero buyers remorse.  These jeans came from last year's swap.  They fit great when I first put them on, but as the day goes, so does the elasticity in the denim.  Maybe if I had paid for the pants I'd feel obligated to take them to a real tailor for a proper fitting.  But since I made no financial investment in them, I took my chances with a DIY.  Scoot those buttons over an inch or two, ignore the now slightly off-center zipfly, and ta-dah!  A much better fit.

Ghetto fabulous or brilliant ingenuity...call it what you will.

It's a 3-day weekend for us 9-5ers in the USA!  Enjoy!

Great DIY indeed. Genius! I love the bright colors of the top. Also, my five year old niece loves to sing the Pants on the Ground song. I didn't even know what that was until I heard her singing it . . .

Thank the Lord for a three day weekend!

The necklace was the first thing that caught my eye about this outfit. I adore statement jewelery, and this piece really completes the look. Adorable outfit! Always love seeing your outfits - thanks for sharing!

Pants on the ground, pants on the ground... HAHAHA.

I wore my pants on the ground yesterday. :) Only the hem, though. The rest of the pants, like yours, were on my legs and bum.

I need to do one of these clothing swap thingies.

Those pants are cute, and I don't think they look too long... Then again I don't have to walk in them I guess haha. But, can we please talk about how cute this top is! Those colors with the purple/pink and the collar and buttons?! So cute! And the necklace goes really well with it! All around great outfit :)

Nothing like a little creative ingenuity, there are times I think my closet and half my house run on it (I once fixed a toilet with some ribbon, a hair tie, and a thumb tack. My personal best). Those pants look great on you and I’m absolutely in love with that necklace. Great look, lady.

Lovely necklace. I headed over to Francesca's to check it out. Alas, it is not there. Sigh...blogs will do that to you.
