Pugs and Promises

One week today since we said goodbye to our love pug.  Steve and I have gone through several stages of grief - sadness, anger, regret, blame...now we're just sort of empty and depressed.  It helps to be out and busy.  We have the most amazing friends who have supplied us with prayer, love, support, and wine.

As I reflect on the effect Miles had on our lives, I know that every moment and penny spent was well worth it.  He taught us about uninhibited joy, unconditional love, selflessness, and appreciation for food (!).  We now know how to raise and train an amazing dog...though he sure made it easy.

I'm so glad Miles was able to spend Christmas with us in our new home.  He was so cute sitting by the Christmas tree, waiting for company to arrive, we couldn't resist the photo-op.  The red turtleneck slays me.

We met with a Pug breeder the other day and got to play with newborn pups.  We'll hopefully pick one out be picked out by one of them in few weeks when they're ready to leave their mama.  I'm so excited, I can hardly wait.  Our home just doesn't feel right with a wrinkled furbaby.

Oh...so this is supposed to be a style blog.  Some of that comin' up later this week.  Pinky promise.

I'm so sorry to hear about Miles, Jill. It's so hard to lose a pet, but it's clear that you gave him such a happy, loving home during his life. My thoughts are with you, as I can't wait to see which little pup chooses you next :)

I'm honestly tearing up just reading this, the hardest thing is losing a pet that you love and loves you. But there are so many other dogs that need love out there so you will feel good caring for another. Miles looks amazing by your tree.

Please take all the time you need-fashion can wait. These pictures are adorable and they really tug at my heart strings. You and Miles were so lucky to have each other. I am crossing all fingers and toes that a new pug waddles into your life asap!

I adore these pictures of him. There will never be another Miles- he was the ultimate sweetness and cuteness- he set the standard mighty high.
Can't wait to meet new baby pug- you will make him shine too.
Love you!

Miles really knew how to rock a sweater. What a face! It just radiates personality.

Hang in there, girlfriend. It'll hurt less someday.

I'm so sorry you lost your beloved Miles. Have you considered adopting a non-purebred dog that may have less health issues, maybe from the local shelter?

Such cute pictures of him in the sweater - I know how badly it hurts now, but it does get easier. And I hope you'll be chosen by a lovely new fur baby when they (and you) are ready!

I'm so sorry about your Miles :( He was far too young, but it sounds like you had an amazing year and a half with him. It's so, so terrible, these little guys just wiggle their way so far into your hearts and lives. Disney will be a good trip for your guys, and time will help <3
